CES or Consumer Electronics Trade Show is held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA every year. This fair is the world's largest event on all newly invented technologies.

This technology fair is organized by a US trade organization called 'Consumer Technology Association'. 1,376 organizations from the technology world are associated with this organization.

The first CES trade show was held in New York City in 1967. About 100 companies brought their products to the service exhibition and attracted about 17,500 visitors. And for the first time, pocket radios and integrated circuit (IC) modern television caught the attention of the audience. Since then, many significant innovations have been introduced to consumers at this trade fair. 

For example, at this trade show in 1970, Philips presented their video cassette recorder. It was the first videocassette recorder to hit the consumer market. Then at the 1981 show, Sony and Philips introduced CDs and CD players for the first time. Much lighter and more durable than vinyl discs common at the time, CDs could hold up to 1 hour of audio. However, at CES in '81, the CD was kept for display only. The following year, 1982, Sony and Philips separately launched their CD players for consumer use.

Several companies, including Samsung and Toshiba, brought the first DVD players to the 1996 exhibition. Also, for the first time, low-cost digital watches in 1976, home computers in 1978, camcorders in 1981, plasma TVs and Microsoft's gaming console 'Xbox' in 2001, 'OLED TV' in 2008 and 3D televisions in 2010 were displayed at the CES trade show. Many of these important inventions, innovations and products have been showcased for the first time at the CES trade show. 

CES was held twice a year from 1974 to 1994. The winter event was held in Las Vegas in January and the summer event in Chicago in June. The world's largest consumer-focused technology exhibition has been held annually since 1998.

In addition, since 2015, the trade show named 'CES Asia' is being held in Shanghai, China. Basically, institutions and consumers from various Asian countries including China participate in this event. Also, European and American companies present new products for Asian consumers. 

This tech fair is usually held at the beginning of January every year in Las Vegas. Usually, the preparation time for organizing this 4-day long fair takes more than 17 days. This year, 'CES 2023' was held from January 5 to 8, where about 3,200 companies from different countries of the world joined.

Advanced Android smartphones that will hit the market in 2023 will have this satellite communication service for the first time.  Especially Samsung's 'Galaxy S20 series phones are expected to have this feature.
